Last week the company pulled Slingshot in a premature launch. Now, it's officially launched.

Slingshot is similar to Snapchat, and allows users to send a photo or video to friends, but they can't see what's sent until they send something back. Worryingly, the App also allows its users to send to all their friends, and to me, depending upon the uptake, some of that might be looking like spam.

Today, we’re excited to introduce the second app from Facebook Creative Labs: Slingshot. Slingshot lets you quickly share everyday moments with lots of people at once. Facebook Launches Slingshot App To U.S. Users [newsroom.fb.com]

With Slingshot, we wanted to build something where everybody is a creator and nobody is just a spectator. When everyone participates, there’s less pressure, more creativity and even the little things in life can turn into awesome shared experiences. This is what Slingshot is all about.Slingshot [blog.sling.me]
...available today starting in the US on iPhone (iOS7) and Android (Jelly Bean and KitKat).
