I am using Facebook for the past 2 years and of course I like it. I haven't tried other social networking sites so I don't exactly know whether they are better than Facebook or not but I personally like Facebook.

> With over 1/3rd of the Globe on FB, what's not to like?

That would be over 2.3 billion people given world population estimates.

I would put a more accurate number of 'people' at 1/10th.

And welcome to the forums.

what's not to like?

Brett would need to buy another two servers just for the space to fit the possible replies..

Yeah i still like facebook because it provide better and easiest way to communicate between other online users and also helpful for social media optimization which is an important part of SEO.

and also helpful for social media optimization which is an important part of SEO

Hmmm...surely SMO is marketing and nothing to do with SEO?

If it were to do with SEO then I'd be in there however SMO for some types of real-world B&M businesses has no relevance whatsoever.

 5:06 pm on Nov 20, 2012 (gmt 0)

Yes. I have an account on Facebook. I am using Facebook for 3 years. I like to use Facebook because it helps us to find our missing dear one such as friends, relatives in the Facebook.

I like Facebook very much.

 5:19 pm on Nov 20, 2012 (gmt 0)

I like Facebook, but I don't like posting my life story on it. I keep my page very generalized. I think Facebook is becoming to much like a part of life for some people. I prefer to be social in the real world.

For a business I don't see any reason not to use it. Facebook doesn't polarize so no matter what niche you are in, the chances are your potential customers are Facebook users.

 11:17 am on Nov 21, 2012 (gmt 0)

Like it only for SMO

Hate it - nothing remains private here and tag is just a kind of bribe to view shared posts forcefully

 1:09 pm on Nov 21, 2012 (gmt 0)

Never used facebook and never will.

 1:24 pm on Nov 21, 2012 (gmt 0)

Facebook is a nice contact list in case I need to get a hold of someone. Other than that, no thanks.

 9:56 pm on Nov 21, 2012 (gmt 0)

Had a relative lose a job because of personal data she posted on Facebook. Info was benign.

I stay far away from Facebook. The only thing Zuckerhack "likes" is money.

 5:36 pm on Nov 24, 2012 (gmt 0)

Slipkid: I had a similar problem, firm tried to sack me on a comment I used that did NOT mention them, they settled out of court for 10,000.

That will teach them.

 6:05 pm on Nov 24, 2012 (gmt 0)

For every negative story about someone's data on Facebook there are hundreds of people who post stuff on their pages. (you just have to be sensible)

I don't think Mark Zuckerberg is in it for the money, you only have to see his frugal lifestyle at the beginning.

I think he just "likes" the idea of running a big company.

And where else can you get a page up on the web in minutes and start getting hits or likes ?

Outstanding! Or, as the folks on Top Gear say, "Brilliant!"

Yeah, I use Facebook page and I am satisfied. Actually I use it for my business and I got great traffic to my website who also became consumer. I am going to continue using Facebook to boost my company.

 8:12 pm on Dec 27, 2012 (gmt 0)

do you still like facebook

if no, what do you like

Chocolate. (Yes, that was a facetious answer).

...who says there needs to be anything instead of Facebook?

 2:38 pm on Jan 4, 2013 (gmt 0)

Yes, it is still a good source of traffic.

 8:13 pm on Feb 7, 2013 (gmt 0)

Business seem able to set up a Facebook page much quicker and its easier to get some engagement from viewers than it it to a website.

 8:43 am on Feb 20, 2013 (gmt 0)

yeah, i like facebook. i used to like it on a different level earlier and now the reason for using Facebook has changed. now a days Facebook is used for marketing. i like this idea. let's face it - Facebook's functionality for connecting with your friends and family has degraded; there are not many useful and worthy posts now. it's becoming more of junk and less of knowing each other.
i do like the idea of marketing a company using facebook. buy facebook likes and fans to promote a brand.

 9:07 pm on Mar 12, 2013 (gmt 0)

Yep I'm addicted to it :). using it everyday on personal and business level. no more privacy like some of you mentioned but yet the best platform to connect to my family and friend.

 3:09 pm on Mar 25, 2013 (gmt 0)

1. To keep in touch with my friends who live abroad.

2. To maintain my business page.

3. I personally want to avoid facebook. I use cold turkey to block when am working. weekly twice or thrice I open and use it.

VERY VERY distracting.

 9:57 am on Apr 3, 2013 (gmt 0)

absolutely addicted! but its just more a marketing platform than a social media stay in touch "store" :) but ya, without fb... no doesn't work ;)

 8:24 pm on Apr 23, 2013 (gmt 0)

  • Never liked the idea (personal use)
  • Opened an account (to experiment with it and "promote" one of my sites)
  • I see too much nonsense there (sorry)
  • EVERYTHING is away from my personal data, I use a website email and no names, just related to the site and still FB managed to suggest real friends to me. They are tracking...
  • After a while I received likes, comments, etc related to my website.
  • I still.. don't see a benefit...
  • Since one year ago I'm receiving too many friend requests
  • Most of those friends request turn into unwanted invitations to events, birthday reminders and games.... I don't like it.
  • Most work it's now about accepting - cleaning - blocking - unsuscribing
  • It's been a while since I accepted someone new...

I remember one thread regarding ROI and FB / Twitter and several members that I'm used to recognize as good posters complained and walked away from those. I don't know how are things right now but I lost interest on FB, it seems more work but unwanted work... Just my two cents.

  • wellky

I'm really new in Facebook and need to create a business page, but I have no idea about it. Now I just have 100 friends on Facebook. Can you guys who can tell me what's the proper number of Facebook friends that is suitable for creating a business page. What can I post everyday?

     1:55 am on Apr 24, 2013 (gmt 0)

I don't think there is a proper number.

You just need to think of reasons why people will want to bother to go to your Facebook page!

I have a business page but it needs a lot of work.

Just Google it you get some tutorials.
