if someone is greyed out, he will receive your invitation. 100 or even 2000 invites is not enough to raise the red flag.

Welcome to the forums, silverman. It sounds like you've had some solid hands-on experience with FB. It's good to have people like you contributing.

Actually even though the people are greyed out the invites aren't arriving on the profiles. I ran some further test yesterday and this is what happened. If I select one profile and do the invite, the invite shows up on that profile immediately. If I select 50 profiles and do the invite, the invite will show up in the additional profile I can view immediately. If I select 75 profiles and do the invite, the invite will show up in the additional profile I can view immediately. If I select 100 profiles and do the invite, the invite doesn't show up (been over 24 hours) If I select all the profiles and do the invite, the invite doesn't show up (it's been over a week) I used pages not related to any profile or other pages, including using some Facebook owned properties to suggest to friends. I did a "invite" to an event for a client yesterday to a complete list of friends and they went through so this looks to be a Fan page only issue.

Suggestions to friends is going to become VERY filtered and controlled - there are many other ways to build fans for your facebook page. I would use CPV marketing/PPV as well as Facebook adds, facebook group and relevant fan page walls, etc.

Cloudtap, is your suggestion about the filtering just an idea/experience or do you have a source? (I'm not saying that it's not, just trying to see how far down the road it may be). Personally I haven't seen the effectiveness of facebook ads (ad blindness is huge on facebook in my opinion) and Pay-per-anything takes away any advantage smaller mom/pop sites have. Suggestions was a quick, easy way to get low hanging fruit and help building of critical mass for smaller companies but your right in that it's not the only technique to use. Here's a discussion I found that suggests it maybe more of a glitch in the system vs proactive filtering. [facebook.com...] I've switched up providers to get different IP's to see if that affects any filtering by ip. I'll let you know if that changes anything. I do have one profile that has a "friend" that suggestions 4 or 5 different pages per day so they are coming through. As the discussion above suggestions maybe there is some type of "batching" going on delaying the delivery of the suggestions.
