App to manage quotes

Hi guys.

I run a small website that has around 40-80 products. A big part of my job is to get quotes from different suppliers (china, korea, japan etc) for such items and I usually manage them with an excel spreadsheet. This is clearly not ideal as I have prices, photos and supplier info all over the place.

I am starting a new business that will sell thousands of products and managing quotes via excel spreadsheets will be impossible.

I was considering paying for someone to create an app for me to manage quotes. I'd register the product, register suppliers, then add quotes for the product from the suppliers. Then one can just click a specific product and get all the quotes from all the suppliers for that product. If in the future you need to re-order, you can just request new quotes or purchase from previous suppliers.

I'd be happy to make it open source and I was initially thinking it'd be best designed with Filemaker (because we have macs and because it's easy to modify).

Would anyone be interested in such app? Is there an existing app like this? I'm sure my problem isn't anything new.

Cheers

Leo

Perhaps it is time to buy a 'small' ERP system. Most of them has functions like this.

Do you have any in mind? I tried to google for
- app to manage product quotes
- software to control quotes from suppliers
etc and there isn't nothing that does what I need.

Maybe I'm googling the wrong keywords?
