Hi everyone. I'm new here, and new to e-commerce design. Although, I've been designing php/js websites for a while, I'm getting into some ecommerce stuff lately. I've only built one website so far with Magento (beast!) and another using Presta Shop.
I have this unique project and I need your advice.
The client is a small business lender. They offer small business loans and their goal is to accept payments online.
I explained PCI-DSS stuff, and how they need someone in-house to maintain an e-commerce-like website they can accept payments through and critical data security would be, etc. They asked for other solutions, like where the user gets kicked over to Paypal.
The user will need to enter some data such as their loan number and some personal information like that, and then enter the amount of payment they would like to submit, or it could be they will enter their loan number and then the 'amount owed' would appear.
So my question is, what solutions do you think is best for this type of situation? This is definitely different than a typical (e-commerce) type website, as 99% of the content on their website will be static information. They they want a 'Submit Loan Payment Now' button or similar that leads the user to a simple payment page.
My goal is to lean them away from accepting payments directly through their own website simply because they do not have the budget/man power to maintain, watch carefully, upgrade, protect data...down the road. I'm stuck as to what recommendations to offer them. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. :)
