Bodybuilding.com did a nice walk through of their warehouse here: [forum.bodybuilding.com...]
There's a coupe of videos on their site as well.
Probably on a larger scale than you're intending but still :)

Bodybuilding looks like any warehouse store. ie Home Depot. How many of us have forklifts? Or 25' high ceilings?
This is a great subject tho. There have been several wonderful threads on WebmasterWorld about the subject over the years...especially about methods to record what is shipped for use if the customer says the box arrived missing an item or two. A universal problem for all of us.
Frankly I'm bored with all the "How do I get OScommerce to..." threads in this neighborhood.

I used to have, before I decided to cut down on the "overheads" :)

The warehouse I'm looking at has 22' ceiling and is 1500 sq. The forklift would take up too much room and I really couldnt drive it around ;)
I will have to searh this forum then and look for some of the older posts. I remember one user on here has setup that takes pictures of the package, etc..
What about packing stations? I'd like to see some packing stations too.
If the customer claims they are missing an item, we just ship it again. Thankfully, most of our cutomers are honest.
Except for the one we just had that did a chargeback and the billing address matched the shipping address, and we shipped it to the billing address and she claimed it was still fraud. Yeah right.

Look up Seville Classics. They sell some great organizational furniture, and an awesome bin rack in particular, that you can get for just $150. Yes, it's all made over seas unfortunately. But as you've probably found, US made "commercial" organizational stuff is ridiculously expensive. Not to mention, usually butt ugly.

How about a nice cart to put packages on? This from Seville looks good, and cheap
I imagine a used restaurant supply company might have these of even better quality. Maybe check Craigslist.
