Text Message and Twitter Tweets jrockfl msg:4422139 3:49 am on Feb 27, 2012 (gmt 0) We would get emails saying they did not receive an email with their tracking details. We would suggest for them to check their spam folder. A lot of times, it would be there. I came up with two other ways to notify customers when their order ships. Twitter tweet and text message. For example, the customer can check the "Text me when my order ships" and provide their cell phone number. Once we ship out their package, our shipping application will text them. Does anyone else have this issue about not receiving emails?

In my 12 years of ecommerece, I can honestly say I have never had a complaint about not receiving a shipping notification. Could be just dumb luck, but I do like you idea about texting. Thing is, I send the tracking information in the email with a link, something that doesn't work in a text. Still, good idea. tweating it though, IMHO is not. Text message is a great idea, feels more personal .Makes you think about great costumer service. jwolthuis msg:4422249 2:16 pm on Feb 27, 2012 (gmt 0)
How would you use a Tweet to provide tracking details? Wouldn't it go to everyone following you?

We just tweet to let them know their order has shipped. Yes, it goes to everyone.
