Affiliate managers are typically charged with managing a company's affiliate program and the affiliates that sign up for it. The person typically works to develop incentive programs that will reward an affiliate for generating sales of goods and services. Essex_boy msg:4362978 6:48 pm on Sep 15, 2011 (gmt 0)

recruit new affiliates, affiliate program reporting, approve/decline affiliate applications, check for fraud, manage banner ads, manage data feed, and the list goes on... this is actually a big job, especially for larger ecommerce stores. many larger stores have entire teams devoted to the affiliate program. when in-house, it's an Affiliate Manager (AM). but when it's an outsourced job, it's called an Outsourced (Affiliate) Program Manager (OPM). because an OPM has to promote their services, you much more likely to find their job description posted on websites, when compared to an AM. so google for "what does and affiliate OPM do" or "services performed by affiliate OPMs".
