joint ventures in e-commerce Makaveli2007 msg:4250725 5:48 pm on Jan 8, 2011 (gmt 0) Hi everyone, in SEO/Online Marketing, everyone is busy building links for mostly SE rankings (few do it for the traffic the links bring). However, I recently noticed in some kind of job ad, I came across, that "e-commerce managers" are often required to build and oversee "strategic partnerships with other websites". It sounded mostly like - link exchanges (but for customers not SE rankings), and/or sharing one another's list/customer base,etc... - in other words: joint ventures. Is this an important part in e-commerce that many people who are busy building links for SE rankings/too stuck in their SEO worldview (like me;))...completely forget about? thanks!

I've never seen any legit company use the title "E-Commerce Manager". Without seeing the full details of what you're describing, it doesn't sound like a "joint venture" so much as an agreement to share customer lists for cross-promotion. Definitely something I'd ignore if I came across it. :) Makaveli2007 msg:4252665 1:24 am on Jan 13, 2011 (gmt 0)
thanks for your reply, but I think youre reading a bit too much into it - I basically just browsed online job boards(exp?imgerman!), and it might be a title used more frequently in Germany. then again, I think i saw this one used in the English-speaking world, before, as well? but i may be wrong about this myself!;-) anyway i wasnt looking for the job, but just giving in to my curiosity lol
