Has anyone done any sort of advertising via texting for their website? I have been seeing more sites lately that not only have facebook and twitter signups on their site, but mobile texting sign-ups as well. I wanted to know if this has worked for anyone? I was thinking about testing it out for a couple months, as the companies I have found were not too expensive, but was looking for some feedback from anyone that may be doing this. Thanks

If you know your market base well then I can see how this might be useful. I know of a local pizza shop that invites people to contact them for a text msg of a coupon code for a discount on lunch. They get what seems like a decent level of participation and whats more is they're developing even more loyal followers through word of mouth. It's the added value of such ideas that are hardest to measure.
