Need an Idea
Email campaign

 11:27 pm on Mar 17, 2008 (gmt 0)

So here's the deal; I have a list of 500,000 verified gamer email addresses, and I'm trying to think of some type of service or product that I could offer them that'd actually be useful. I'd like to possibly sell something, but just getting traffic would be useful enough to me. Any ideas?

Unless they specifically gave YOU permission to e-mail them, then it won't matter if you hawk Viagra, stock tips, or offshore gambling- most of they will consider your messages SPAM.

I understand that, and to an extent this would be considered SPAM. But all of these come from a common service, in the gaming industry, so I'd actually like to do something useful for players (not hawk viagra haha)

How about contacting a big game vendor like EB games and offering them a chance to promote their product to 500,000 verified gamer email addresses, get them to pay you every time the gamers download some demo or sign-up to their news letters.
Simple, but effective.

create a website with a competition to give away something gamers want.
Tickets to a gamers event, PS3's, Warcraft in-game money etc..

Monetize the website with advertising and affiliate links.

create a cyber competition where players go head to head and win promotions on games :)
