msg:3205156 | 8:41 pm on Jan 1, 2007 (gmt 0) | Hello, will I be penalized by the search engines if I redirect one site to another in the same genre? I have a site I have worked very hard on for a year, but the domain is too long and I already have another shorter and better domain in the same industry. Can I simply manage the new (site) domain, and redirect the old to the new as well? Will this hurt my rankings for either? Lastly, how can I get traffic from the previously indexed pages all redirected to the new site? Sorry so long, and thank you in advance for any assistance! Happy New Year!

I just did this over the holiday weekend and I see that Google has my new domain name already indexed. The old domain name is still there but it points to the new one -Corey
