Shopping Cart - Can this be done?

Need some advice.

I have an old javascript shopping cart that works on our website but the final check out steps goes to the developer's CGI bin on a different server.

The problem is the developer must be going out of business, we cannot reach him and he will not answer any emails from anyone.

Basically my store and his other customer's stores are still working but we are afraid he will just cancel his hosting account and suddenly the cart will not work at all.

We want to use a different cart but it will take time to do this and we need to keep his old one working until many of his previous customers can migrate to something new.

Here is my question:

Can't we hire a programmer to create our own final check out page and just email the results? The shopping cart software generates all the html pages, puts them in one folder and we upload those to our website, the only time it goes to the developer's site is when you hit the "submit" on the shopping cart.

Here is one of his sample stores:

I think over a year ago one of his other customers said they paid a programmer to make the final checkout go to their own cgi bin. So they were not held hostage by his cart.

Can someone just take a quick look at how this cart works and point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance for your time and advice!
