msg:4508144 | 2:57 pm on Oct 15, 2012 (gmt 0) | Hi- searched my domain name to see who links to me & saw my site www.example.com listed as www.example.com.ph and www.example.com.vn/. with same title and url. The urls(in Phillipines, Vietnam)went to a page "this domain name is for sale". Geeze, thought I only needed to buy .net,etc versions, now I have to worry about buying up country extensions?! I don't want my site name with a vn or ph country extension to mirror me or go to a p*rn site and ruin my name/brand. Thought of blocking the IP country range(I'm blocking so many countries already for bad bots) I don't ship to PH or VN..just don't want my url used. Any suggestions?

If your business address is 123 Main St, Yourtown, that has no effect on anyone doing business at 123 Main St, Othertown, or 123 Main St, Namelessville, or 123 Main St, Wayoutwest. Et cetera. What good would it do to block the country? People from .xy aiming for example.com.xy would never land on your site except by mistake. Maybe you're thinking of g###, which owns every country in the world and sends you to your local tld by default.

I guess that's like having the electronics store Best Buy and a grocery store in Phillipines called Best Buy.I was just concerned because the urls ended with .com before the country code and I had purchased the .com version. If they'd ended with .org.ph I'd have understood because I never purchased .org.
