Does anyone know the effect on geolocation of a .EU domain?
Will .EU only show on local searches of E.U. countries (plus wherever its hosted) or is .EU global like .Com?

Does anyone know the effect on geo-location of a .eu domain?
Will it show only on local searches within the countries that comprise Europe plus wherever its hosted?
Is it worldwide like a .com?

Geolocation did not apply to .eu domains when they first came out. That was one of their downsides, just like .asia doesn't geolocate to that region. You can use Google's webmaster tools to geolocate to a specific country, but there's no option of a region or multiple countries.

Yes and can do extremely well, all my main B&M efforts now go into my .eu site.

Interestingly my .eu generates proportionately more valid business enquiries and sales compared to my .com

I can tell you this there are some superb .eu names back in the pool or at very reasonable cost for sale.
