| Which domain name is better? Which one is more search engine friendly? |

msg:4186148 | 8:30 pm on Aug 12, 2010 (gmt 0) | Ok I am hesitating between two domain names - SomethingMyKeyyword1MyKeyword2.com or MyKeyyword1MyKeyword2Something.com I like the first one better "SomethingMyKeyyword1MyKeyword2.com" because it makes more sense but I am considering "MyKeyyword1MyKeyword2Something.com" because it starts with my two keywords. Do search engines care where keywords are placed in a URL? Does the first keyword has to be the one that is the most important in a URL? Thank you!

| That is the one to go with, then. You'll have an easier time promoting a site with a domain name that is attractive to users.

msg:4186186 | 10:01 pm on Aug 12, 2010 (gmt 0) | Look at Google, Yahoo, Bing, Twitter, etc. They aren't keyword domains like BigSearchEngine .com, and they're doing GREAT. So don't let the keywords in the domain name be a big concern. You can always compensate by being sure that the page names include the keywords you're trying to rank for. And of course anchor text on links to the pages/site is also important. Personally I'd pick the one with the keywords first but with limited information on what the words are and what the something is, and the length of the whole thing, I can't say for certain. Don't forget that hyphens can work too, just don't have too many...
