How to remove Domain Privacy

I forgot my Privacy password for "domain by proxy" and the email I had used was a .edu email which had expired so I was thinking of a solution to remove the privacy before I renewed my domains for another year:

Here are two ways that I thought of:

#1) You can fax a specific page on DomainByProxy with all your info to have your info, email and password reset

#2) You can transfer your domain to a friend and transfer it back; this removes the extra options such as privacy with each domain.

If anyone has used another method please let me know.
