Name Server Question on Domain I No Longer Own
Site's Down, New Owner Not Responding

A few years back I sold my domain www.example.com to a buyer that must have only been interested in the content. For years it remained pointing to my dedicated server: ns1.myserver.com

Recently, I have done away with the the dedicated server and www.example.com went down with it. I still own the myserver.com domain and I was wondering if it is possible to set it up so that the myserver.com domain redirect visitors to example.com's new home without me having a dedicated server to do so?

Thanks in advance.

Not likely. You would have to:

Have a new DNS server that believes you own example.com.
Point ns1.myserver.com to that DNS server.
Hope that the DNS system picks up the change (but I don't think it will).

Even if you put a dedicated server back up, you'd probably need its old IP address.

get a reseller account that lets you set up your own nameservers.

make one of them ns1.myserver.com . then, at your domain registrar, change the IP to the new IP.
