I'm looking for a software program or a online site that finds
domain names for vary competitive niches.

I'm building a blogger blog in one of the most competitive
niches there is games.

I tried some of the domain search software programs but
a lot of them would not let me save the domain list.

What do you mean by "domain search software programs"? I haven't found any software that can replace some creativity and hard work.
I usually use Excel. I can create a list with terms related to the website I want to create. You can add these yourself or from information out there on search frequency. You can then mix and match using concatenate or you can add a list of secondary terms culled from your head or from the web.
Over time this list of secondary terms becomes more and more useful as you mix and match with other seed names.
