Interesting tidbit published by Domain Name Wire [domainnamewire.com] about how the holder of CheatCodes.com, LLC was attempting to press an infringement of rights claim against Name Administration, Frank Schilling's company, for infringing on their "rights" by being the registrant of CheatCode.com. I'm sometime amused by the audacity of people who think slapping an LLC on a generic descriptive phrase gives rise to rights to a claim of exclusion or "you can't use this phrase now, we own it" exclusivity.
Of course, adding the sometimes thoughtless or clueless grant of the imprimatur of "US trademark" protection to a generic phrase emboldens folks . . and, we can't say how this little storm will blow . . but my money is on Name Administration, a/k/a CheatCode.com, putting CheatCodes.com back on its heels.
