Directories that require a reciprocal link?

Hi Gurus,

I'm currently doing some link building with directories that require a reciprocal link - to submit my site. Only thing is its my client's site.

How do I get around this, because the receiving site URL has to be the same as the submission site URL?

I can see my competitors have submitted also but cant see their reciprocal links anywhere. How did they do this.

Please HELP?

Perhaps your competitors paid for a listing OR "they know someone/something"?

You might ask your client to create a "reciprocal links" page/directory, "resources page", etc. and link out from that.

It's more likely to be because your competitors got in early, when the directories were linking out without asking for a reciprocal link back. Most directories change their listing requirements over time. Good luck finding quality, free, dofollow directories with no reciprocal requirement in 2012, there are fewer and fewer.
