Category deleted, site now out of directory

 7:26 pm on Apr 23, 2007 (gmt 0)

Hi, there. The entire category a site was listed in is now totally gone from the directory (with no equivalent), and the site's now gone MIA from ODP altogether. It's all still there in the Google directory as it was before, but not at DMOZ, though.

I'll be altering the primary focus of the site a bit anyway over the next month or so (narrower, my personal interest has taken a bend in the road), so should I just wait 'til more modifications are made and my expanded content is added, then choose another category and submit?

It isn't a "commercial" site, it's informational in nature and would be more suited to another category anyway at this point, one more specific to the topic. If I were an editor, I'd think it should be moved elsewhere based on the focus that's developed.

This has happened before. It could be that the category is to be merged with another and will reappear somewhere else. It could be that the category is being broken into smaller subcats ....

It looks, by numbers, like a good number of the sites have been moved to a couple of categories; but truthfully, the site in question is a good one, but I'm not so sure it would really be too good a fit for those others.

I've never noticed a category just "go" so I was a bit taken aback, at first I thought it was some kind of bug.
