As far as i know its near impossible to get a description for the title of your site in the directory. By default they use your domain name. I noticed one site that i believe is arecent addition and has a descriptive title rather than the domain name used. The strange thing thing is they managed this with odp too. Is this a flag that they have the right connections or is it possible to get a descriptive title?

With ODP normaly the title is the same as the name of the company / person who owns the site.

They don't use the domain name. They use the name of the website, which means it is very easy to optimise a title.
