hi all,

I want to load the empty time zones tables in the MySQL database on my server.

I have WAMP installed on my office Windows 7 x64 development machine. The MySQl docs say that the Windows OS does not have time zone tables. However, the MySQL WAMP installation on the Windows 7 machine does have a set of empty time zone files in the "\Program Files\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.5.20\data\mysql" directory.

It appears that the MySQL docs say that i can just move and copy over the empty time zones files in that directory with the "timezone_2011n_posix" files i downloaded from the MySQL site.

Is this correct?

I'm a little confused because there is a warning that says...
Warning
Do not use the downloadable package if your system has a zoneinfo database. Use the mysql_tzinfo_to_sql utility instead. Otherwise, you may cause a difference in datetime handling between MySQL and other applications on your system.
I think the warning does not apply to me because i think it is referring to the Windows system itself having a zoneinfo database and not the WAMP installation on the system - am i also correct in this assumption?

thanks
