$connect = mssql_connect("#*$!","sa","XX") or die(mssql_error());
$test = mssql_select_db("XX", $connect) or die (mssql_error());

but in remote connection it will limit the query.. ?

I was hoping someone would chime in with an idea of what was going on here. :/

Did you happen to find a solution that might be able to help others if they run into this same problem?

gregg still for now i dont have any idea why the remote connection limits the query.. mybe im lacking a driver or what? T_T

but the this connection string with ODBC works..

$conn = new COM("ADODB.Connection");
$connstr="Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Data Source=#*$!XX;Persist Security Info=False;User ID=#*$!;Password=#*$!;Initial Catalog=#*$!";
$conn->open($connstr);

but the syntax is weird to study and i don't like IT.. T_T
