Grid not working as it should on one viewport

I can't quite work this out and I've stripped the css and code down to the bare essentials but I still seem to be having issues between 600-768 pixel width browser:

[jsfiddle.net ]

I need the grid to fit the width of the container and it does until it reaches the 768 width where it then seems to go a bit crazy and only fills two thirds the space. When it gets down to the next media query then it's okay.

I'm just wondering if it is has anything to do with it then going to a percentage based grid.

Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
