pls I need help in positioning menu and body in right positions

I got a menu code from dynamicdrive.com and incorporated it into my css file but after these when loading the page,the menu seems to be high above while the body messages apear below it.its a left navigation menu.

it is actually on the left and the body mesages on the right but it is high on top of the body message. pls how do i edit the css to put them side by side and not one on top and the other below

It could be anything - or several things working against each other.

My recommendation is to strip the HTML and CSS down to the problem itself. If the fix is not found during this process, post the test ready code that replicates the problem and we will look at the options.
