I was looking through webmaster tools and saw some entries of pages with a url of http://www.example.com/mobile-home/2-uncategorised.html We had jtouch running a while back and may have had a mobile-home folder. However, all of that is gone now.

I went through the templates and through the extensions and could not find anything generating that URL.

Just as a test I tried http://www.example.com/xxx/2-uncategorised.html and ended up getting the same page. I found that I can put any characters in for the folder after the domain name and the same page comes up.

We are running 2.5.17 with sef, url rewriting and suffixes.

Does anyone have any idea why we would be seeing this and how to get rid of it ?

Someone else

:: carefully avoiding eye contact with g1smd ::

will deal with the aspect of "Why is Joomla doing this and how do I make them stop?" The Joomla-independent fix involves going into your htaccess file and putting in something like

RewriteRule ^[^/]+/2-uncategorised\.html - [G]

with further tweaks if you have any actual URLs containing the element "2-uncategorised.html". This line goes after any existing access-control directives, before any existing 301 redirects.
