Joomla 1.5 woes
Reativate written over web site

 12:48 pm on Feb 28, 2013 (gmt 0)

I maintain a history website which was running joomla 1.5.8 and everything was running nice with plans in place to upgrade to joomla 2.5.

My right hand guy hadn't backed up and overwrote the existing files by installing joomla 2.5

Since that time we installed joomla 1.5.23 and rebuilt the template and extensions.

One extension that's causing a lot of problems in SEF advance. It was on the old site - but got overwritten and I purchased a new sub to SEF advance and did a new installation.

I've also got problems with the menu items and extension noticeboard when the SEF advance is activated.

Now - when I turn it on - I'm getting 404 errors all over the place.

I need the help of a excellent hand-on guru who can help me get this site working right.

We've lost google position because of 404s and being down for 7 days while we rebuilt.

The client also has a facebook page full of links to the site that I need to get back.

I sent this to a joomla specialist for the look see. I'm still interested what you think is wrong - but I've got someone else working on the problem now.

Thanks everyone
