Seeking Advice on Deal-Submission Website

Hello:

I would like to build a deals submission website using WordPress or Joomla. I've used Joomla in the past for other non-submission websites, but the current version (1.6) doesn't offer many extensions because the CMS is brand new. WordPress is a good option, but I've got to use a custom submission form.

Please offer suggestions based on your experience in this catagory. Thank you.

You mean where users post announcements of deals for other users?

Sorry, but I don't actually know what a "deal submission" site is.

That is correct; where users post deals and other users vote them up or down.

Just to help the community and the world: I bleieve Das Capitolin found a resolution to this problem and posting his resolution on the site may help others to solve the same problem. Is it possible for him to post his solution?

I am definately one that believes in helping other developers find solutions through the internet that save them time and money, and if his solution helps to do so than that would be excellent!

Thank you.

To build a deals and discounts submission website, I used WordPress (free) as the CMS with the Gravity Forms (commercial) to build a complex product submission form.

On a side note, I had previous hired a "professional" to build the form with cForms, but he failed. I ended up taking that money and buying Gravity Forms, and after a week of trial and error, I built a better form than I had originally planned.
