How to move wordpress blog from sub directory to root

Dear all

I am close to pulling out my hair with those Online Chat support personnel in my web hosting company.

By default of the installations with H-spere, the wordpress blog will be installed in a sub directory, domain/wordpress.

This is not what i wanted. I want the blog to show on www.domain.com. After my complaints to them and i suspect they only used a re-direct to get my blog to show from domain/wordpress to domain.

I think i am correct because when i install gocodes to keep track of my clicks, am getting 404 error.

Therefore if my hunch is correct, how can i move the blog to the root myself?

They are really wasting my time! Argggggg!

There's two issues: hosting the site in a folder on the server and the folder name appearing in the URLs used to access the site. Both are independent of each other.

As long as you change the internal links on the pages to point to the right folderless URLs, you can leave the software in the folder and employ a rewrite such that when example.com/something is requested, the server pulls the content from the /folder/something location.
