Hi
I am trying to find a script (PHP/ASP or any else) to install on our webserver. We have a lot of schools that travels alot, and i want them to be able to upload pictures from wherever they are in the world and add a little text box explaining what the picture is about.
It has to be easy to upload (no client ftp program)

Does anyone have a good idea for what to use?
It does not have to be freeware but if there are any sheep shareware out there that cost a little, thats OK

We are running Windows2003/IIS/PHP5/MySQL5 also with ASP/MS-SQL option

Hope to hear from anyone with some good advice :)

Regards
Morten

AFAIK the dominant players are Gallery (gallery.menalto.com - note to self, generic names are not really a good idea) and Coppermine.

I've tried both and use Gallery, but it's a bit of a beast and I believe the current roadmap is to drop IIS support.

Of course, for just being able to upload a handful of photos, a lot of CMS will let you create photo albums.

Do you have an idea about why?

If not you dont have to waste alot of time findig out. It was more if you have ran into the same fault yourself :)

Is it showing everything but the picutres, or just giving you a white screen?

What do your server logs tell you? Check both the Apache and PHP logs.

I would expect to see something there.

Sorry for my vage description. Something fell out.
I know that was not much to go on :)

I have uploaded them but they are not showing.

I am not sure what log files to check. I have some on IIS (not using Apache)and the only thing i find around this in that file is the following:

As I read it, it does not point to any fault.
I was wondering if i was missing a plugin, settings.
Hmm. I am a little stuck

Kind Regards

Okay, there are no requests for images there. You would need to look further and see what's going on.

Are you using Gallery 3? That's really alpha software and in any case it is not designed to run on IIS. It might, but it isn't designed to.

Also, URL's can be an issue with IIS if you're using "clean" URLs. I don't know what the G3 URL schema is, but in G2 it will be something like

http://example.com/albums/d/6729-4/photo1.jpg -- for a generated thumbnail

The page for that photo will be something like:
http://example.com/gallery2/v/category/subcat/gallery/photo1.jpg.html

So I would not try using G3, but would use G2 and I would start it with clean URLs off.
