Hi all. I am new here. saw the site listed in the latest .net mag and decided to check it out as I need some help vetting some ideas out.

I have used Joomla for the last year to build several sites. I have found it to be extremely easy to use and the widgets that are available for it are pretty amazing... but... the community seems to be falling apart. For some reason this just worried me and I have decided to take a second look at the CMSs that are available. Expression Engine came up as there are several sites I have admired over the last 6 months that are using it....But I am open..

My requirements.

Most of my clients will be churches so ease of use is important.

they will need a good calendar widget

I will need a good templating capability

LAMP would be preferable

other items needed will be user registration capabilities, html newsletter management, photogallery, forums, nice menu capabilities.

just as a start.

Does anyone have experience with EE? If not which other CMS systems (preferably commercial) would you suggest?

If you're also considering Typo3, you should definitively have a look at [webempoweredchurch.com...] as you say your clients will mainly be churches. Could save you a lot of work maybe..
