Updating old content ethics & linking press releases?
Also a third question about internal links...

So what are the ethics on updating old content? Let me make a list of questions I've:

1. Should I update old contests (hardware/software giveaways to be specific) saying that they've ended OR archive them into a different, (probably) hidden category? I find this kind of content-destructive as new users won't see everything that the site had posted or have done. And that would be useful, as my traffic is quite low, bellow 1k visitors a month so far.

2. Is it okay to have links in press releases that weren't there? My Wordpress auto-linking plugin adds links to words automatically, so a press release can become full of new internal links press release.

3. Must an internal point to a specific post, or can it post to say a category or a tag?

Please ask if I wasn't clear somewhere, and I'll try to explain.
