These days Article submission directories has grown like mushroom, mostly using the same free PHP script. I submitted using their online article submission forms and come to the conclusion that in 70% of them your article will go unnoticed. They are not using WYSIWYG so that writer can do necessary formatting for SEO and human users. If you use article distributer services i doubt that good webmasters will pick the article from them.

Many directory use automated system to check the quality of article and decline many good/genuine articles for nonsense reason like; submitted in the wrong category, Bad formatting, Dup content etc. Some site owner ask money because too much crap has been submitted there, shouldn't they become selective rather rather than asking money.

One day article directories will meet same fate as tons of link directories are having today .

Dup content

That is certainly NOT a nonsense reason. I'm so tired of reporting "authors" who copy my content to hundreds of these so called "directories" in hopes of getting some sort of benefit for themselves while my original pages go supplemental or drop out completely.

Let's hope these directories go the way of link farms - and soon!

They perceive it as
dup content
though it is not.
