Austin Texas further solidifies that it is indeed a very tech friendly city.

Facebook is creating 200 jobs in Austin, thanks to a $1.4 million incentive from the state of Texas.

The move will be the first major U.S. expansion outside of Palo Alto, Calif., where the company is headquartered, according to officials. It is investing about $3.1 million to set up operations in Texas, according to Gov. Rick Perry's office.

Wow, that's good news for Austin. Further adds to the web marketing/social media nexus in the city.

Might this be a precursor of a move from CA to TX by the company? California politics and taxes are beginning to drive major (and minor) businesses from the state.
