Twitter DATA LOSS for many users. No response from Twitter on this. g1smd msg:3976655 11:28 pm on Aug 21, 2009 (gmt 0) I see more and more people announcing that suddenly all of their old public messages (everything older than a few days/weeks that is) going right back to their first day, have suddenly been removed from Twitter.
Twitter have not made any announcements or responded to any questions (any many people have been asking). This probem has been ongoing for at least three weeks (or, at least, that is when I first became aware of it).
There's been a lot of talk about messed up follower counts and the like, but this post is about the loss of

Twitter seems to have ongoing issues with scalability and reliability, not to mention having to fend off DDOS attacks.
I think most people treat tweets (say THAT fast 10 times!) as ephemeral, though I've occasionally tried to hunt down a cool resource that I recall hearing about in a buddy's tweet.

OK. Twitter staff had posted about this elsewhere in their support area, several weeks before; not on the 'status' page.
A fix went in nearly a week ago, and they say it should take a week or so for it to correct all of the accounts with missing stuff...
