How do I get my Youtube channel to rank?

 5:49 pm on Jul 8, 2009 (gmt 0)

When you type: [brand] youtube in Google are channel is not showing up. Anyone have any experience with optimizing their channel show it shows/indexes for their brand?

I see it's working for other big brands and we also link from our index to our Youtube channel but cant seem to get it to show.

Youtube uses both of these url's to display but typically it's the user/brand that shows up.

Any help would be appreciated!

Assuming that you have already optimized the titles, descriptons, and tags, you probably want to focus on making the videos seem more popular. Doing some outside promotion to get views and links might help. Ratings, playlist additions, etc. may play a role.

Any other suggestions?

Good Point rogerd,

It's like any other site promotion you need to get the buzz going and get people talking about it with links pointing to the Youtube Profile URL.

Thanks Rogerd,

We've done all the optimization and we are linking from our PR7 index so I guess link building is only option left to get this channel ranked.

Does anyone have any input on which is better to get links to:

seems like the user/youtube is what's getting indexed most of the time in Google.
