Does Social Networks Can Boost Up Web Ranking

Hello,

I want to ask that does social networks can boost up our ranking. As I've observed that some social networks leaving their links with nofollow, this means they actually do not want their websites to loss the trust in respect of search engines. But they give us no favor but having our links to be there on their websites. So can someone here tell me the reality?

Thanks,

Bilal

PS:-And please also state that the links with follow tag does have any impact over search engine rankings.

Yes, any link can help you in the long run. Even if they put a no-follow, the link still works and drives traffic right?

Also, the links are still used to help search crawlers find content, so your pages may get more exposure.

Then there is the point of view that thinks any exposure is good exposure...

Correct.

Social media marketing is a great way to obtain links. Even if most of links do not register the traffic you get from that site may just make up for that.

I agree with maximillianos. In the sense you are only using the link for higher search engine placement you probably won't see much benefit (with nofollow beig used). If you have good content and is useful to the members of the social network you want to put links on then you will see a boost in traffic from the links. Hepefully you'll get enoguh traffic that you will gain links this way. Again, in this situation I think it all falls back on your site's content.
