we are planning to show text version of a part of content to a search bot and image version of the SAME TEXT (generated dynamically,excatly same) to users.
So is it cloaking?
how will google take it?
we are thinking of trying to as a bid to minimize text theft.(may be to some extent)
any suggestions?

If the image text and the hidden text are identical, I don't see how this is an ethical problem. It SHOULD be fine. However, Google might not think so. You never really know with them...
Maybe post on mattcutts.com and hope he answers?
