IP Redirect issues with Blogger.com
Best way to IP redirect bots on blogger account.

My blogger account just ranks higher than my official website. Maybe just because of the domain, the trust in it. And my official site is not really new, it's been registered since October 2006. It's on page 2 in the SERPs and just wont jump to page 1 but my Blogger is on page 1. Thus I wanted to IP redirect bots on Blogger, but this is on the domain blogspot.com.

I know there is an FTP hosted option in Blogger where I can move blogger to my host, and from there I now have control for IP redirection.

But will blogger 301 the old blogspot.com URLs to my new FTP hosted URLs where I will do the IP redirection? Aside from that, if ever they do, I will then have a double 301, doing a 301 twice, just wondering on your opinions on this if it is that good or bad?

That's pretty new.

Maybe I'm missing the point. If you host the blog, isn't it going to be on your domain?

Hmmmm... I have had experience in the past, sometimes it just needs 2 months to get my site ranking high even if the domain is new and just 2 months old.

So I do not consider my October 2006 domain new anymore.

Now I have this website, let's say:

www.domain-account.com

But I have a separate site:

some-blogger-account.blogspot.com

And my blogger account ranks higher than my main domain account. These are two different sites. I think just because it's blogger, it ranks higher. Specifically this is a MSN/Live issue.

I was thinking of doing a 301 redirect of my blogger site to my main account.

But I believe I have no control of doing a 301 redirect on blogger.

And if I move the blogger account to an ftp hosted blogger account, I believe the old blogspot URLs do not 301 to the new URLs.

But since I asked this in the cloaking section, I plan to redirect MSNbot visiting the blogspot site to the main site. But I think I have a hopeless case. I think i cannot do 301s on blogspot.com.

> I think i cannot do 301s on blogspot.com.

I think that's correct.
