Hi,

I'm looking to develop a very simple version of Wordpress.org or even Tumblr.

I haven't been able to find a PHP script that would allow me to run a site where people can sign-up for a blog.

Or even a third party website that offers that kind of functionality.

Anyone know of any?

Cheers,

Lawrence

i don't think you will find a blog hosting service with terms of service that will let you host a blog hosting service.

You can look at WordPress Multi-User but I don't think it will offer more than a minimalist type of individualization. They would all still be on one domain. Maintenance and security issues would be unpleasant or worse.

There's an Open Source project called BlogHoster that appears to be exactly what you're looking for with member accounts as subdomains or subdirectories, your choice.

There might be others that I'm unaware of but quite a few sites seem to be using BlogHoster so it appears to be the real deal.

Hope that's what you wanted, check it out and let me know!
