The right approach would be to try and get the backlink *with* the knowledge of the user. Otherwise you're delving into the territory of hidden links and deception and that's not going to end very well.

hmm.. I agree Marketing Guy.
So if the user himself wanted to hide it from displaying to the public, but like to credit me with a linkback.. how is it possible?
I would like to know the technical possibility from the SEO gurus.
Does Google count the links in the backend code. How do the other guys achieve this?

I'm still waiting to know the possibility of getting this done.
Not sure how other plugin developers are working it.
I was researching and came across few statcounter scripts that use a linkback in a noscript tag. Is this done for SEO juice?

I am agreed with marketing guy that if you will hide you then how can you get backlinks , i want to suggest you that start link building for your site and get high quality backlinks for your site . i think you have to start link building though forum posting by joining these forum and start discussion here and participate here that will helpfull in getting backlinks.
