From Central Asia, China, to Japan, and down around the rim to Australia and New Zealand; the Asia-Pacific region represents the next wave of internet growth.
Search engines are just gearing up to address the Asian market. For most English speakers, it is confusing and daunting task to comprehend.
This forum is specific to Search Engine promotion and other related issues in the greater Asia-Pacific Region.

Welcome to the Asia-Pacific Forum at WebMasterWorld.com
The internet is growing at an amazing pace, and one of the fastest growing regions is the Asia-Pacific region. With over half the worlds population and a relatively low "WWW Penetration" the prospects for the future in this region are big; HUGE!
However, the are a number of challenges for those wishing to enter the region, including Language, Culture, Governmental Control, and so on.
One of the biggest challenges in the region is languages; there are simply so many of them. This means that the Search Engines and Directories in the region serve a dual role:-
Add to this the developments in Native Language domain names and it is plain to see that there are tremendous opportunities to garnish traffic from the many Directories and Search Engines in the Asia-Pacific region. The question is, how do you find them and how do you exploit them?
That is the main subject of this forum:- What Search Engines and Directories are available, where they are, what language they are in, and how to get into them. Of course to do that, you also need to understand some of the peripheral challenges, such as how to code your pages correctly for the different languages, what topics would be considered taboo in other countries, and so on. These are also good topics for discussion.
"However," I hear you say, "just where is the Asia-Pacific Region?"
The region can be broken up into five main areas:-
Also included for the time being is the area sometimes known as Western Asia, more commonly called the Middle East
So, please enjoy the Asia-Pacific Forum and remember, "What goes around, comes around!" Please help others just the same as they are helping you.
