Yahoo China on Tuesday launched a new blogging and networking service, in a move aimed at diversifying its revenue streams as it steps up expansion in the world's second-largest Web market by subscriber numbers.
The Yahoo Space (i.yahoo.com.cn and club.yahoo.com.cn) service includes blogging, photo gallery, online networking and other interactive functions for Yahoo users, Yahoo China said in a statement in response to a Reuters enquiry.
There are several blog services already active in China today. One of the biggest established Chinese blog services is Bokee [bokee.com]. They completed a deal with the people at SixApart [sixapart.com], the makers of MovableType, to provide Chinese language blog software/services last year.
Is it too late for Yahoo China in this market, or is there still a lot of room to grow?
