If I am not mistaken, the httpd-devel package can be built from the Apache source archive

Maybe, but I have no idea how to do that or where to start even. It should be downloadable somewhere or not?

I have had a quick look, and realistically it would be far easier for you to install linux or use a linux server.

i agree with vincevincevince. i remember seeing prebuilt MSIs of the http-devel package once but i can't find them at the moment and they were for previous versions of apache - the archive hadn't been updated in 3-4 years.

I am running everything on windows, and have installed a testing server on one of our laptops. Apart from discussions on what is better, setting up Linux on one computer only to get this package to works seems a bit of overkill. Simpler than to test everything as far as possible on my local server, and then test the bit about mobile phones by directly uploading it to our real website.
