To start with, it's against the WebmasterWorld TOS [webmasterworld.com] and the Apache Forum Charter [webmasterworld.com] to use your own domain names in posts because of issues with self-promotion, spamming and site reviews.

However, there are also technical issues involved and example.com is filtered out from the way WebmasterWorld's software formats URLs.

Case #1 - Sample without example.com:

When you enter text like this using some other domain name:
Rewriterule ^somepath/(.*) http://www.webmasterworld.com/

WebmasterWorld will convert it to look as follows:
Rewriterule ^somepath/(.*) [webmasterworld.com...]

The above sample gets altered and is basically unusable Apache syntax.

Case #2 - Sample with example.com:

Rewriterule ^somepath/(.*) http://example.com/

Note that the sample using EXAMPLE.COM will produce correctly formatted URLs and is viable Apache syntax. When you copy and paste the code into your Apache conf file or .htaccess file, simply replace example.com with your specific destination or source domains as needed.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
