Hi all,

I have a question reguarding subdomains. I currently have some re-write rules that redirects everything eg after

example.com/subdomain to subdomain.example.com

Last time i checked google did not want to accept my sitemap because it had subomains. So my question is can i submit a sitemap with urls like this:

example.com/subdomain and then google bot would see it?

Is this a good idea?

Could you submit the example.com/subdomain url to google then set up a redirect in cpanel or whatever? that would probably be best.

Yes I can. But wouldn\t google see my subdomain and my other page as duplicates. This is what i would like to know.

Put a sitemap file for each subdomain into the subdirectory used to store files for for that subdomain.

Sitemaps are per-hostname, not per-domain or per-directory.
