how do i redirect this back to just

Assuming that you've got wildcard-subdomain DNS set up, a standard domain canonicalization routine --as posted here many times in many flavors-- should suffice.

i dont have a subdomain setup. i understand how canonical works. but the page does not exist but it's listed in google so how do i put the canonical rule in?
I tried using a modified version of the put www infront of your domain rewrite condition.
just looking for guidance. can you link me to a thread that you think will help?

This search [google.com] may help. I added a whole bunch of possibly-non-obvious keywords to narrow down the search results a little.
