Redirecting all blog URLs to forum root
| 9:54 pm on Jun 8, 2009 (gmt 0)|
I had a wordpress blog earlier on my site, which is no longer in use and gets only a handful hits. Now I want to redirect all of its urls to the forum root i.e.:
example.com/blog/ or example.com/blog/post-1/ to site.com/forum/
If I use Redirect 301 /blog/ http://www.example.com/forum/ it tries to redirect post url from site.com/blog/post-/ to example.com/forum/post-1/, instead of example.com/forum/ (hope I am making sense).
How do I set it up the way I want it to work?

Use the RedirectMatch directive instead of Redirect. See Apache mod_alias documentation for details.
